Borobi, means koala, in the language of the Gold Coast Yugambeh people. Borobi is Australia’s first surfing koala, inspired by a drawing created by Brisbane school teacher Merrilyn Krohn, the winner of the GC2018 Mascot Design Competition.

The blue koala, Borobi, in his vibrant yellow board shorts, will visit the Surfers Paradise urban hub from 11am to 1pm, meeting and greeting shoppers, taking photos and making new friends. With the 2018 Commonwealth Games just weeks away, Holiday Holiday anticipates an influx of shoppers to the Chevron Renaissance Shopping Centre with Surfers Paradise taking on the role of celebration central throughout the event.

Come April, Borobi 2018 Commonwealth Games Mascot, will play a key role in welcoming athletes from around the world to the Gold Coast and will invite the world to share the dream and bring the true spirit of the Commonwealth Games to life.

For the 2018 Commonwealth Games, and to accommodate the increased visitors to the precinct, Chevron Renaissance Coles will operate 24 hours from Tuesday, April 3 until Monday, April 16. Selected specialty stores, cafes and restaurants will also have extended trading hours during this key time.

All Holiday Holiday guests will be checking in at Holiday Holiday guest lounge located directly above Infinity in the Chevron Renaissance Shopping Centre.
