#1: Paddock Bakery
Paddock Bakery is a quaint cafe in trendy Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast. Taste amazing pastries baked by wood fired oven and probably the best sourdough around.
Sourdough, doughnuts, sausage rolls, pies, curry puffs, croissants, brownies, muffins, cookies – Paddock is heaven on the Gold Coast.
Check out two amazing seating areas at Paddock apart from the outdoor garden areas. The Loft sits above the garden amongst the trees, full of character and heritage. This 1950’s cottage was the original homestead which was lifted to it’s current position in the treetops. Featuring antiques from all over the world, including a large copper-backed 19th Century clock from France.
The Barn is located just beside the Cottage, through the red barn door and directly underneath the Loft. The Barn is full of character with the antique Mirror, Easel and Chest, to the original Darrell Lea Chocolate Bowls providing copper light over head.

Le Gourmand Cafe is most certainly the best French cafe on the Gold Coast. With a French owner and chef, you can be promised the best and most delicious croissant you have ever tasted. Le Gourmand’s croissants are hands down the most sumptuous croissants outside of Paris. Try its tartine – goats cheese, avocado, poached eggs and button mushroom and ask for it on warm croissants.

Bam Bam Bakehouse has won many Gold Coast awards. Bam Bam pumps out mind-blowing pastries and amazing baguettes. Bam Bam serves a large selection of sweet and savoury food. Look out for Bam Bam Benny, poached eggs on Bam Bam croissant. Its pastries are made with French flour, in French equipment, in small batches and no baguette sits on the shelf for longer than two hours.
