Glow Festival 2019 HOTA
GLOW Festival 2019 at HOTA is back over three wondrous nights – Thursday August 1 to Saturday August 3. This is a free community festival that will light up the skies at HOTA with interactive artworks, wild installations and all-ages performances that will intrigue, enlighten and engage all of the senses.
This year’s theme – Creatures and Colours of the Night – will see local, national and international acts delivering delightful, memorable moments to create a wonder filled night-time adventure for all ages.
Marvel as the colours of the sky shape-shift into the Aurora tones of the northern lights, with Borealis by Swiss Artist Dan Acher; French spectacle company Cie Des Quidams set free a mystical troupe of inflatable horses on a fantastic ride through the imagination. Australian Company Stalker combine aerial acrobatics with cutting edge interactive technology to create an Australian habitat play space, Mountain; and contemporary visual artist Meagan Streader pushes the limits of light and sculpture within her latest installation, Parallelism.
The stunning centrepiece of GLOW this year will be BOREALIS, by acclaimed Swedish artist Dan Acher. Gold Coasters can experience the Northern Lights from the comfort of their picnic blankets as the glorious colours of the aurora are projected over the Outdoor Stage lawns, accompanied by a stunning soundtrack and the voices from the HOTA Choir.
