Sea World Spooky Nights is Sea World’s all new after hours family event, running from 13 to 28th October 2023! The event starts at 5:30pm and transforms the park into a Spooky land filled with colourful Sea Monsters and ghastly Ghost Pirates! Take part in a Trick’n’Treasure Trail (paid experience), experience incredible precincts, spooktivities, shows, selected rides at night plus more! Village Roadshow One Pass Holders receive one free entry to Sea World Spooky Nights.

There are 13 rides and exhibits to visit:

#1: Leviathan Thrill Ride

Rising from the depths of The New Atlantis, only the bravest will conquer the mighty Leviathan. Feel the thundering quest across wooden terrain through exhilarating banked turns, crossovers, drops and dips of the world’s most iconic wooden coaster. Will you rise to the challenge? Take on the Leviathan’s 909-metres track at speeds of up to 80kms per hour, reaching a mighty height of 32 metres. Plus, you can ride it backwards! Now Open at Sea World.

#2: Storm Coaster

Ride out the storm on an awesome new coaster that the whole family will enjoy! Hold on tight as you face a 20 metre wave on dry land. Can you brave an extraordinary fire while drenched in water? Be prepared to ride the perfect storm, without a single cloud! 470m of track with speeds of over 70km/hr!

#3: Battle Boats

Feeling competitive? Board your automated shipwreck-themed boat and battle your way around the Battle Boats track in Castaway Bay! This interactive experience is fun for the whole family. With over 80 water cannons in and around the Battle Boats track, there is something for everyone! Are you ready to take on the Battle Boats?

#4: Sky Fortress

Bring the family and experience the adventure 5 storey climbing adventure trail! Challenge yourself as you tackle this high climbing ropes course. With ladders, tunnels, slides. bridges, it has something for everyone to enjoy! What are you waiting for!?

#5: The Reef

The all new fully accessible interactive splash area features an array of water cannons, spouts and life-sized animal sculptures.

#6: Polar Bear Shores

Polar Bear Shores is home to Hudson, Nelson and Mishka. These are the only Polar bears in Australia, and the exhibit replicates the Arctic summer.

#7: Sea Jellies Illuminated

Experience Sea Jellies like never before with an illuminated backdrop full of colour and life. Plus, learn all about these amazing creatures in the first of its kind operating research laboratory from Griffith University.

#8: Shark Bay

You’ll be amazed by the magical display of tropical fish, rays and other bottom-dwellers in the stunning Tropical Reef Lagoon – it’s like a piece of the Great Barrier Reef on the Gold Coast. You’ll come face to face with the impressive sharks that will glide past the huge windows offering a glimpse into the world of one of the ocean’s top predators in the massive Shark Lagoon. This two-level exhibit offers incredible viewing both topside and underwater, as well as a snorkel lagoon and a shark pool full of awe-inspiring beauty.

#9: Bikini Bottom Cross Town Express

Dive in for the best day ever in the wacky underwater world of SpongeBob SquarePants! Spin and slide back and forth on a short u-shaped track. This tug boat ride gently rotates as it rocks and spins over a shallow arc-shaped track, moving at 12 kilometres an hour.

#10: Boots Banana Boogie

Dora, Boots and all their friends are on an adventure! Ride in your very own banana-shaped vehicle whichs rises up and down as the ride spins. This merry-go-round style ride spins around at a speed of 17km an hour and rises up and down as the ride spins.

#11: Donatello’s Ninja Flyer

Enter a bustling action-packed New York cityscape, home to the Big Apple’s greatest heroes – the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and put the pedal to the metal as you soar high in the sky to help keep New York safe for another day. This family-friendly ride cruises along at a speed of 5.6 RPM and reaches a velocity of 2.75.

#12: SpongeBob’s Boating School Blast

Zoom, zip, and zigzag on a madcap ride through Mrs. Puff’s Boating School, cutting a path of destruction to rival SpongeBob’s! This ride is perfect for families, covering 88 metres of tracks with a top speed of 27 kilometres an hour.

#13: Jet Rescue Coaster

A sea lion is trapped and we need your help! This speedy coaster will take you on an exhilarating quest to save our precious marine life aboard your very own Jetski.

Is Sea World Spooky Nights suitable for Children?

Sea World Spooky Nights is a family friendly event suitable for children of all ages and adults.

Are Face Masks or Costumes Optional?

You are welcome to wear costumes and light face make-up. No dangerous items or weapons may be brought into Sea World. Note: Some costume pieces may need to be removed due to ride restrictions.

How to Get to Sea World Spooky Nights?

Public Transport:

For buses to Seaworld: catch route bus number 705 to Seaworld. Note: the tram line does not connect to Sea World so you will have to catch the bus.

Taxis can be hailed on the streets of Gold Coast, or you can reserve a taxi anytime by calling 131 800. Make sure you ask for an estimate of the fees.

Private Transfer:

Holiday Holiday can arrange private theme park transfers to and from your Gold Coast accommodation. This will often be a private coach that will drop you off to the theme park of your choice.

Hire Car:

Last but not least, consider hiring a car during your stay on the Gold Coast with Holiday Holiday. It is extremely easy to navigate the streets of Gold Coast; signs to the theme parks are plentiful, or just make sure you have your GPS set to the right address. Gold Coast drivers are very respectful and patient. Parking at Sea World is free and plentiful.
