#1: Cedar Creek Estate Vineyard and Winery

Location: 104 – 144 Hartley Road, North Tamborine

Charming winery in picturesque grounds is a very humble way of describing Cedar Creek Estate Vineyard and Winery. Imagine entering treelined driveway, driving past Cedar Creek Chapel and lunch overlooking a lake. Hold on, are you here for wine tasting or are you here for a romantic day trip?

Cedar Creek Estate is famous for the backdrops of its vineyards and sweet sandstone chapel in many Gold Coast wedding shoots. You won’t be here just for its wine tasting, Cedar Creek Estate even has its own glow worm cave, rainforest walks, wildlife galore, cellar door open daily, and an onsite restaurant for a lazy lunch or high tea on the deck served with a side of gorgeous lake vistas.

Cedar Creek Estate’s winery boasts the largest selection of wines in the hinterland featuring reds, whites, and fortifieds, as well as stocking a changing selection of Queensland’s best local boutique wines from the Granite Belt and South Burnett regions.

The winery is open for tastings every day from 10am — 4pm.

#2: Tamborine Mountain Distillery

Location: 87-91 Beacon Road, North Tamborine

Tamborine Mountain Distillery describes itself as a place where true old-world charm and history co-exists. It is nestled atop a beautiful mountain, set against a backdrop of lush sub-tropical rainforest.

The highlight is its gorgeous Elizabethan Tudor style building, constructed in the time-honoured traditions called Tasting Room where you can taste a very large range of Liqueurs and Spirits.

Tamborine Mountain Distillery has amassed hundreds of national and international awards for its handmade liqueurs, schnapps, vodkas and eaux de vies over the last quarter of a century.

Tamborine Mountain Distillery has won many Tourism Awards, such as Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards, Beaudesert Tourism Awards, Scenic Rim Tourism Awards, Down Under Live International Awards and Tourism Queensland Awards with over 14 recognitions since 2001.

The winery is open for tastings every day from 10am — 4pm.

#3: O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards

Location: 852 Lamington National Park Rd, Canungra QLD 4275

O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards is one of our favourite Gold Coast wineries. Taste some award winning wine in the historic homestead ‘Killowen’  also home to the Vintage Restaurant which is open for lunch every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Local musicians play in the Gazebo every Sunday from 12pm – 3pm.

More than just wine tasting, O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards is perfect for a picnic with the family. Order a picnic basket, complete with picnic rug, cutleries and glasses and spread out on the extensive grounds that stretch along the banks of the Canungra Creek.

Best of all, check out the Mountview Alpaca Farm on the vineyard. You can feed and walk an Alpaca through the lush vineyard grounds or even book an Alpaca Picnic!

Location: 850 Mount Cotton Road, Mount Cotton

Sirromet is Queensland’s largest producer of premium traditional method sparkling wine. Sirromet’s state-of-the-art facilities include the fully operating Winery, Cellar Door, Restaurant Lurleen’s and Tuscan Terrace, set against breathtaking natural scenery overlooking Moreton Bay.

Sirromet Winery offers the full experience to both wine enthusiasts and occasional drinkers alike through standard wine tastings, premium tastings, and a full winery tour. Sirromet boasts an impressive lineup of events including concerts by the likes of Kylie Minogue and Sir Elton John.

Sirromet has collected over 900 prestigious national and international wine awards since opening in 2000.

#5: Witches Falls Winery

Location: 79 Main Western Road, Mount Tamborine

Witches Falls Winery focuses only on wine. It specialises in three distinctive ranges of wines: Granite Belt, Wild Ferment and Prophecy, each providing a unique look at different styles and practices in both viticulture and winemaking. Witches Falls’ team loves wine. They love growing it, making it, drinking it, matching it with all kinds of foods and sharing it with friends. Take in all the winery action through the large glass windows behind the tasting counter.

Witches Falls Winery does not have a restaurant as it focuses only on making great wine. They do have fantastic gardens which are the perfect setting for you to enjoy your own picnic. Check out Witches Falls’ range of locally made Jambreen Cheeses. Choose your favourites and build your own cheese board. Boards and cutlery supplied for use in the gardens.

Cellar door is open 10am – 4pm weekdays and 10am – 5pm weekends.

#6: Mount Tamborine Vineyard & Winery

Location: 128 Long Rd, Tamborine

Mount Tamborine Vineyard & Winery cellar door is conveniently located along Long Road Gallery Walk, right opposite the popular German cuckoo clock shop.

For an amazing selection of local wines and ports, Mount Tamborine Vineyard is the place to go to.

Once you are done with wine tasting, visit other stores that sell craft and fudge along Gallery Walk.

Self drive

It is easy to drive and navigate around the Gold Coast and the hinterland areas with a car. There are various car hire operators on the Gold Coast from whom you can hire a car. If you do decide to self drive, make sure you have a designated driver.
