While my grandparents have traditionally hosted Christmas in the family home for generations, my grandma surprised me this year with the suggestion of experiencing the summer sparkle of a coastal Christmas on the Gold Coast. This is my Gold Coast Christmas wish come true.

The deal was sealed when we discovered that Santa would arrive in Surfers Paradise on a surfboat sleigh pulled by kangaroos!

I almost fell off my chair with excitement when I heard the big guy in red would be spreading his festive cheer through Australia’s holiday playground from December 13 to 25.

That will be the opportunity to keep my parents entertained ,posing for a photo in the surfboat sleigh while I sneak off to whisper in Santa’s ear the special present I have been dreaming of the whole year. But shhhhh… It won’t come true if anyone hears it!

With perfect scenes of beach festivities dancing in our minds, Mum and I began searching for the best accommodation deals in Surfers Paradise.

Mum couldn’t resist booking an apartment within walking distance to the Cavill Mall precinct, home of Santa’s grotto by the shore!

And to make the most of our visit, the team at Holiday Holiday recommended one of their ocean view apartments at the beautiful Circle on Cavill in Surfers Paradise – with the most spectacular views of the fireworks that will light up the skies over the ocean on Saturday December 23.
