Broadwater Parklands, also known as Washington Waters Park Gold Coast, is one of the most popular parks with families on the Gold Coast.

For families with kids, in addition to the famous Gold Coast theme parks, Broadwater Parklands is a place of which you will never get bored. With a variety of fun play equipments – rock pools, swimming enclosure, swings, bike education track, mono rail peddle bikes, a giant lizard, mini bike circuit, a flying fox and exciting play areas – there’s so much to do. The bouncy pillow is a favourite of all kids. How about a soccer game or a picnic with the family on the large grassed area.

#1: Rockpools

This is an exciting, sculptural water playground. The water play area is designed with cool water fountains and vibrant marine-themed equipment. It includes a creek bed and several tidal rockpools for children to splash, dam and explore.

The Rockpools are manned by lifeguards during opening hours and are completely free.

#2: Bouncy Pillow

Bring the kids along for loads of fun on the bouncy pillow at the Broadwater Parklands. The Bouncy pillow has the following opening hours:

1 December to 31 January: 7am to 7pm
1 February to 31 March: 7am to 6pm
1 April to 30 August: 7am to 5pm
1 September to 30 November: 7am to 6pm

#3: Picnic and Barbecues

The park offers a wide variety of recreational options including picnics and barbecues, strolling on the rooftop terrace to take in the spectacular views of Surfers Paradise, fishing off the pier, swimming, and lunchtime sports on the Great Lawn.

#4: Free Wifi

Free, super fast wi-fi is available at the Broadwater Parklands 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Surf Network offers speeds up to 30Mbps and great daily data usage limits of 4 gigabytes (upload and download).

The park is just opposite to Australia Fair Shopping Centre so families can get some take away or bring a picnic pack to enjoy at the beachside near the playground. There is limited barbecues available but that should not stop the family from having fun.

There is a life guard on duty throughout the day for safety. Gold Coast kids and families can also bring along their bikes and go for a ride near the playground. If you feel hot, you can go for a swim in the netted swimming enclosure.

How to get to Broadwater Parklands

The best way to get to Broadwater Parklands is to catch the light rail to Southport South station, and walk approximately 10 minutes across the road to the park.

Where to park

Street parking is available southbound at Gold Coast Highway. Alternatively there is paid parking at the Broadwater Swimming Pool, just north of the park. When it is peak period, consider parking at Australia Fair for three hours complimentary parking and grab some food while you are there for a picnic at the park.
